What the heck is Occupational Therapy anyways?

Contrary to popular belief, Occupational therapy does not usually have anything to do with getting a job! Occupational therapy is, in fact, for people of any age, in order to maximize participation in meaningful activities. Occupational therapists are trained in a holistic approach to enable people of all ages by adapting the environment, modifying the task or addressing an individual’s impairments (physical/cognitive/sensory). The scope of occupational therapy is very broad and can address things such as pain, limitations in range of motion, injury, after care from surgery, and many symptoms related to disease, in order to help people thrive in their own environments.

If you are currently unable to do the things you love, the Occupational therapists at JTOPS can help you regain your independence and facilitate a return to your favorite activities.
